Egypt is the most fascinating place I have ever visited. A mix of sights, sounds and smells so completely foreign to my senses assaulted them all day. Egypt is home to a myriad of ancient wonders and, more importantly, both of my near death experiences. I'm not saying it's a dangerous place, there's just not a lot of safety regulation.
After nearly drowning in a scuba diving mishap, I thought it must have been divine intervention that pulled me out of the sea and back on the boat. As soon as I had both feet back on dry land, without delay I tried my hand at recreating one of the most famous stories from the Bible. After several hours trying to part the Red Sea, I decided that Moses probably just got lucky that one time, so I retired to the hotel bar.

“All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes but tries new places all the time.” - Paul Fussell
