Even in late summer, the air is cool. That just comes with being 4,738 feet above sea-level. After spending a week hiking around the beautiful surrounds, I felt an especially cool change in the air. In the space of a couple of hours, Lech went from being a hiker's heaven to a skier's paradise. The blizzard had struck hard and fast, and stranded me on top of the track. I took shelter in a wooden shed, but it was over faster than a celebrity marriage. Below you can see some before and after shots of the hiking track I was on that day.
Lech went from cool summer, to mid winter back to spring in a matter of days. The gallery down the bottom shows the green of Lech being blanketed in snow, before it all melts away, leaving only the surrounding peaks dusted with icing sugar.
